I visited the Novotel hotel near Newcastle airport for a one day conference. First impression, it's a bit tricky finding the entrance to the car park and, once parked, one has to remember to register your car at reception to avoid a parking penalty. Once inside, the reception foyer is spacious and incorporates the bar. The space is pleasant enough and the staff I came into contact with were all friendly and courteous. The meeting room we occupied was bright and well presented. I didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the bedroom accommodation or overnight hospitality.

Typical Novotel. Rooms are a little tired and could do with an updated feel. But bedding is crisp and clean and the showers are immaculate with no like scale etc. Nice place to stay if working away with good access to the A1 and surrounding shops and pubs to drink and get a meal.

Small pool and sauna area quite nice to relax. They should probably put an end time for kids though so they're not in the pool on an evening.Drinks were overpriced.Parking system is good and there's plenty of parking space.

Hotel is poorly run!Nobody really seems interested in working there.I waited 45 minutes for my evening meal in the restaurant, when there was only 4 other people in the restaurant(!), and my Peri Peri chicken breast arrived still raw in the centre!! I couldn't get the attention of a waitress - only 2 occasionally floating around - so when to the bar and asked to removed the meal from my bill. The bar staff didn't seem that shocked, or apologetic, so I can only assume this happens regularly!!! Similar experience at breakfast the following morning - only 2 other people in the restaurant at 7:15am (a Thursday morning) and the shrivelled up hot food was presented with a crusty layer of skin on top because it had been sat under the hot-plate for so long!!!I had a couple of pastries and coffee.Room was basic, fairly clean and tidy, but in need of modernisation!Check-out staff did not ask how my stay was or barely acknowledged I was there, just took payment and moved on to whatever she was doing in the back office.Has the "potential" to be a really good hotel, due to the location, but seems to be VERY BADLY MANAGED!

This hotel is near Newcastle Airport. i spent one night to head to York the next day.It is not that bad. The staff were literally kind and great. I tried the restaurant their it wasnt the best meal I had but it was eatable. Recommend for one night stay.
