Stayed at the Britannia hotel for convenience as flying at 6.30am, much more relaxing than worrying about the taxi not showing up on time or getting stopped by traffic. 5min walk to the terminal, nice comfortable bed and lovely food. Will do this again.
Only complaint was the Shambles at Breakfast, the day after we arrived. Lay out for toaster ,coffee jugs and hot-water jugs were all on top of each other. People couldn't get moving for one another. I believe a coffee and hot water urn would do them proud , set out in a less cluttered area . Food was Beautiful as was Staff and room. Would recommend it to others.
Well located for airport, staff friendly and breakfast is good. Unfortunately the rooms are very dated and basic and my bed was incredibly hard. If you choose to walk from the terminal building take care not to go through the car park as you can see the hotel but you can't get to it as all fenced in.
Room 235. I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times. They have as far as I can tell two types of rooms....the refurbished ones and the ones awaiting refurbishment. The refurbished one are a joy to be in, every thing new, clean and bright. The others are like a poor Travelodge. My room this time 235 was in need of a good deep clean especially above eye level. Cobwebs were a plenty and very established. Shower refused to get above warm, which was strange as the bath tap water was very hot. Complimentary toiletries were half used. Yuk! There was an ironing board but no iron.....??? Soundproofing is poor throughout. However the hotel is literally 3 minutes walk to the airport terminal and the room price is usually on the low side. So if it's a room you want for a few hours rest and refresh then this is worth considering.
Very accessible for the airport. Very friendly staff. Good value for a place to park up and fly from. Don't choose here for a romantic getaway. Furnishings and decor in need of a revamp, particularly the bathrooms. If these were less than shabby, I'd give my stay 5 Stars.
